Stinson Beach, California

Stinson Beach, California is an unincorporated community in Marin County, California, on the west coast of the United States. Stinson Beach is about a 30-minute drive from the Golden Gate Bridge on California's Highway 1, just north of San Francisco, California. The magnificent scenic highway is just one of the great reasons to visit Stinson Beach.  It is near important attractions such as Muir Woods National Monument, Muir Beach, and Mount Tamalpais. It has a long beach with great opportunities for swimming, surfing, kayaking, kite surfing, and an occaisional kite landing. Also the whole area is a santuary for numerous species of birds and various types of seals.  Many come just to watch the nature at it finest.  Stinson Beach is a popular day trip for people from the San Francisco Bay Area and for tourists visiting northern California. Although most visitors arrive by private car, Stinson Beach is linked to Mill Valley and Marin City by a daily bus service, and the network of hiking trails around Mt. Tamalpais also reaches the town. Only a privileged few are fortunate enough to own property in Stinson Beach for there is a limited amount of property available due to the numerous parks and open space that surround it.
